ANF spoke to a former work colleague of Ömer Güney who has been arrested in 19 January in connection with the killings of Sakine Cansız, a co-founder of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), Fidan Doğan, representative of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) in Paris and Leyla Şaylemez, member of the Kurdish youth movement, in the French capital on 9 January.
Roboski families are still seeking justice after 56 weeks from the massacre by Turkish warplanes which claimed the lives of 34 Kurdish civilians, mostly children, in the village of Roboski (Uludere/Şırnak) on 28 December 2011.
Families of the victims gathered at the graveyard of 34 people on Thursday and released a statement to protest against the non-progress of the investigation on the perpetrators of the massacre.

    Paris Prosecutor François Molins disclosed some details about the ongoing investigation on the  execution of three Kurdish women in Paris at a press conference he held at the Courthouse on Monday.

    According to information gathered by French website ActuKurde, one of the Paris suspects, mentioned as "Ö.Y", who has been referred to court on Monday in connection with the execution of three Kurdish women, is not a Kurd.

    ActuKurde claimed that the suspect was originally from Şarkisla,in the province of Sivas, but not of Kurdish origin. The report by ActuKurde said that the suspect came from an ultra-nationalist family and that he is not a person known by the Kurdish community in Paris, which complicates the collection of information on him.

    Eleven lawyers of the Contemporary Lawyers’ Association (ÇHD) have been arrested on Monday following the expansive operation which ended up with the detention of 55 people, including 15 lawyers of the ÇHD on Friday.

    The ship, Suecia Seaways , carrying Patriot missile batteries from Germany has arrived at İskenderun Port in southern province of Hatay on Monday morning. Following the unloading of the missiles at the port, the batteries will then be carried to the southern province of Kahramanmaras overland. It is reported that Germany has also sent some 350 German soldiers, including medics.

    French Chief Prosecutor has launched a judicial investigation in connection with the execution of Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez in Paris on 9 January.

    Giving information about the subject, a police source said two Kurds, aged 30 and 39, were taken into custody last week.

    The source said that the 30 year-old suspect has been referred to the prosecution office last night, and that the elder one has been released today.

All eyes are now on the evidences the French police will present to the court on the investigation.

    No official statement has been made so far as to the recent developments on the investigation nor the identities of two men, who are said to be Kurds born in Turkey in 1974 and 1982, have been disclosed.

    Turkish police launched raids early on Friday, 18 January, against the Revolutionary People s Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C), arresting 55 people, including 15 lawyers, of whom nine are members of the Progressive Lawyers’ Association (ÇHD).
